Interesting ancient embroidery - flower vase - caterpillar point - Charles times x - xix. This rare embroidery represents a polychrome flower vase. It's painted at the base.
It is an embroidery in caterpillar, technical in vogue xix°. On the back a label indicates: ep. Charles x, hand embroidered at the point of st cyr.
I'm not a specialist enough to get into a discussion about embroidery techniques; connoisseurs will appreciate it. On the other hand, the period was quite consistent between 1824 and 1830. If it hadn't been for that label, I'd have said half a century. 41 x 32 cm; 49 x 40 cm with frame. The embroidery is in an exceptional condition.
Looking well, you will find (or not) two tiny holes barely visible. It is protected by an old blown glass with its characteristic small bubbles. The frame is in good condition with some golden paint appearing (photo 9) and a slight wear of the corners.
This embroidery is about 200 years old. Will be shipped in a very neat packaging to a relay point worldwide for 8,7 to the france or for 12 to the countries served by the world relay: Germany, Belgium, Luxembourg, Austria, Spain, Portugal, low country and Italy.
