Late 19th century, bronze plate, patinated base relief fixed on blackened wood frame & red fabrics. Signed by: Barbedian ferdinand (large model). Bas-relief in bronze representing the virgin, the child jesus, saint jean-baptist child, saint anne and saint joachim. Ferdinand barbedienne : born 6 August 1810 in Saint-martin-de-fresnay and died 21 March 1892 in Paris (9th arrondissement), is a French industrialist known for his bronze foundry. French metalmaker and manufacturer, known for its bronze reproductions, especially the dauguste rodin and antoine-louis barye sculptures. He began his career as a betting wallpaper representative. In 1838 he opened a company with the artist achille collas, selling miniatures of ancient statues from collections of major European museums and created by a machine invented by collas.

In 1870, the Franco-Prussian war forced the foundry to cease production due to a shortage of metals, but the French government commissioned the foundry to build cannons, allowing it to return to work after the war. He died on 21 March 1892 in Paris. Condition: small thrust to the virgin's knee (may seem natural). Dejointed supervision, but fixed (the frame is 19th period too).

Black paint of the frame with cracks (see photos 11 and 12). The bronze plate is fixed by 3 screws (see rear photo 3) on a wooden plate covered with a red fabric at both the front and the back. Bronze measure: 44 cm by 28 cm.
