An old Berber fibula from Morocco in low-grade silver. “Bermil” is the name given to this pear-shaped or rounded teardrop-shaped jewel. It is traditionally made of silver (to be cleaned), inlaid with colorful cabochon-style glass beads imitating precious stones. It is finished with matching tassels (the coins are later additions and were added afterwards).

These ornaments were not worn every day, but only on festive occasions. They represent the wealth and opulence that all participants dream of during tribal ceremonies. A fine, well-made ethnic object. Dimensions: 28 cm x 13 cm, weight: 129 g.
