An old set of two Tuareg ethnic objects. One of the pieces is a tcherot or tiraout, a triangular sewn leather pectoral case containing a verse from the Quran or written protective formulas. The two sides are stitched together so as not to risk losing the precious contents. The second is a small leather pouch with a pocket intended to hold a piece of flint for starting a fire; this pocket closes with a leather loop to secure it. A fine tribal everyday set from this nomadic people.
Dimensions: 9 cm x 6 cm and 6.5 cm x 8 cm.
