Parfait état, belle patine, les photos ne rendent pas justice à la qualité de cette pièce. LARGE BRONZE CRUCIFIX - PIERRE TOULHOAT Superb and important bronze crucifix depicting the Crucifixion. On either side of Christ are the traditional figures from the Calvary scene: To Christ's left (right side from viewer): the Virgin Mary, his mother, in a sorrowful posture. To Christ's right (left side from viewer): the apostle John, the beloved disciple, shown in a gesture of compassion. These two figures often accompany Christ in sculpted or painted Crucifixions, echoing the Gospel of John (19:25-27): Near the cross of Jesus stood his mother and the disciple whom he loved.Created in the 1970s-80s by Pierre Toulhoat, a renowned Breton artist known for decorating faience at Keraluc (Quimper), embroidery for Le Minor, and for founding his own workshop producing bronze pieces and jewelry in lost-wax gold and silver. His iconography is deeply rooted in Breton folk art. Dimensions: Height 17,3 cm? Signed within the composition and at the top of the back. Perfect condition with excellent patina - pictures do not do it justice.
