Alsace, popular art painting on wood, Merry Christmas Happy New Year

  
This painting, "Merry Christmas, Happy New Year", is painted on plywood in the tradition of peasant painting - casein paint, wax patina, faux marble with buckwheat flour. It is inspired by a "baptism wish" (Goettelbrief) from Cleerbourg in 1845. It depicts a tree of life, a symbol of longevity, with an inscription in a heart. Traditional colors of red, yellow, green, and black.

It used to decorate my shop "SCHLEMMER-HAUS" and is signed with my name. It is a unique piece. Dimensions: length 50 cm, width 35 cm.
