Ancient wooden box from the 18th century or earlier (salt box)

  

These sold items are in their original condition and sometimes have small defects. By bidding, it is important to understand that you are not buying new items.

It is imperative to look at the photos and not bid "blindly", thank you. It is made of raw wood (oak) in a rectangular shape. Very old work, surely from at least the 18th century. Dovetail and dowel joint assembly. Use to be defined, could be a small salt box?

Item in its original condition with age defects. Original lock present, but without the key. The lid is cracked and partially glued horizontally. The bottom corners are worn, with missing parts as a result.
