Cheyenne Beaded Case, Plains Indians, with its knife, Period 1880

  

CHEYENNE SHEATH (Native peoples of the North American Plains) with its magnificent trade knife. Elk-skin sheath with beautiful beadwork made of very fine blue and white beads, representing geometric patterns from top to bottom of the sheath. Beads sewn using the CHEYENNE stitch, described in detail in the report on Bill BOYD.

Trade knife with a carved wooden handle and metal inlay (pewter). Dimensions: Length: 31 cm, width: 6 cm.

Very good condition considering its age. Item from my personal collection, a very beautiful piece for a collector.
