Copper plate (traces of gilding) wood inlaid signed: ferdinand GILBAULT. Ferdinand GILBAULT: born in Brest in 1837, died in Paris in 1926, is a sculptor and engraver French-medalist. GILBAULT Ferdinand is the student of sculptor Hippolyte Maindron. He produced some busts before turning to medal engraving. Napoleon's school brienne 1779 - 1784.
