The Prestige Havard & Villedieu Set (4 exceptional pieces): A unique group of 4 bells from the famous Norman tradition. Among them, 2 rare pieces are signed by the prestigious historic foundry “HAVARD VILLEDIEU,” stamped directly on the handle (the renowned foundry that made the bells for Notre-Dame de Paris).
The other 2 are signed “VILLEDIEU LES POÊLES” (including the classic brass table bell with its original wooden handle, as well as a polished red copper bell decorated with a crowned coat of arms in relief). The Figurines: 1 superb old “Lady” bell in bronze/heavy brass, beautifully engraved with many details on the traditional dress. Folk Art & Religious: 1 old bronze bell with beautiful openwork cross motifs on the dome.1 authentic small old shepherd’s clarine / bell with a flat bail in wrought iron/steel, left in its lovely raw mountain patina. The rest of the lot (5 pieces).
A fine assortment of 5 souvenir bells from different regions or periods in polished brass and copper (including one engraved “Super Besse,” desk/counter models, and a small old silver-colored bell). Materials: Cast bronze, brass, solid red copper, wrought steel sheet, wood. Condition: Overall in very good vintage, as-found condition. All the bells have been kept with their original patina (“in their original state”) to preserve their historical value.
