18th-Century Bed Warmer Called “Spider”.

Bed warmer with a cover shaped like a spider, with its eight legs fitted and joined to a handsome turned brass central knob.

This type of cover prevented direct contact between the embers and the bed linens. The copper ember container is richly decorated with scrollwork and intertwined flowers, somewhat resembling tulips.

Height: 16 cm, base diameter: 15.5 cm.

Beautiful patina from use and in very good condition for its age.
