Ancient Japanese Tanto Dagger Late 19th Century Early 20th Century
I am not a specialist in this type of weapon, but after some research, I came across auction sites or auctioneers for similar items, generally sold for around 350 euros plus about 20% in brokerage fees. This would therefore be a Japanese tanto from the late 19th or early 20th century. It is a very beautiful piece made of carved and engraved bone, with a non-opened crack on the back of the guard. I have not touched it in its original state.
It is a very fine piece with a total length of 28.5 cm, a blade length of 16.5 cm, and a guard length of 9.5 cm.
