Ancient Orthodox religious chalice/cup from the 19th century - Very rare! I offer an interesting old Orthodox religious chalice/cup for religious use, probably from the 19th century.
The cup weighs 570 grams, height 26 cm/10.2 inches, base diameter 13.5 cm/5.3 inches, and opening diameter approximately 10 cm/3.9 inches. The cup is handmade and decorated with beautiful floral and geometric ornaments. This item is a true work of art of religious jewelry. It is made of white metal covered with a dark patina - you will receive the item as shown in the photos. The chalice is a sacred vessel for church wine, symbolizing the Blood of Christ. The chalice is part of the Eucharistic set and is used in the sacrament of communion or the Eucharist. Communion is a sacrament in which the believer, under the guise of bread and wine, receives the Body and Blood of our Lord Jesus Christ, that is, communes. A chalice (from the Greek - a cup, a drinking vessel) is a sacred vessel in the shape of a cup in which, during the Eucharistic canon, wine with water is consecrated and transfused into the blood of Christ.
The chalice represents the cup of the Last Supper. The communion of clergy and laity is done from the Chalice. The original antique object from the altar, which is part of the Eucharistic set. Most items are vintage or antique, they are not new, have been handled, and will have use and wear appropriate to their age.
