19th-Century Anthropomorphic Distaff with Spindle Whorl
Magnificent fruitwood distaff with a carved wooden spindle whorl, hand-carved with a knife. The shaft is pierced by an openwork whorl with two crosses, and the upper part is carved with a female figure in contemplation, holding a rosary. On the back of her headscarf, there is a hole for threading a cord.
The wood patina is truly beautiful. Its height is 91 cm.
