Remarkable glass newel post ball for the start of a staircase banister. Made by a master glassmaker and mouth-blown, this decorative and very old sphere adorned the beginning of stair railings.

Its special “honeycomb” design had the advantage of reflecting light even in the darkest areas. An essential object in fine old homes, it emphasized the elegance of a beautiful entrance.

Brass base with threading for a new attachment. Weight: 1154 g, height 18.5 cm with base and diameter 10.5 cm.
