Beautiful And Rare Distaff Of Country Folk Art Upper Savoy Item Date 1891

  
N Maple engraved with different patterns. In the long body end of the spindle, first of all you will see a line of braces, over a leafy stem, then a wide checkered framed by a line of top and bottom braces. A date is inscribed: 1891.

Below, a strange architecture is built in braces, surmounted by two flags (including possibly a blue, white, red). Next to this building, there are two bouquets or plants in raised pots. In a register below, the initial m-c are force-fed. Then three plants are again represented.

A branch of leaves just embellish the original v-p. A wide scenery of alternating triangles is etched and a leaf branch is finish this beautiful scenery in a last register. At the top of the spindle, a linen bundle waits BE spun on a spindle. It is maintained by a large brown cotton ribbon. Two slots and a few holes of xylophagous. Good condition, traces of raindrops on the wooden handle. Engraving and decor very legible.
