Large round antique wooden box, Savoyard folk art, wedding chest

  

Large curved wooden box, probably a popular Savoyard wedding chest made of Swiss stone pine wood. Superb patina, very good overall condition, although there are small insect holes on the bottom (long dead, visible in photos) the wood remains very solid.

Height 17 cm, diameter 24 cm, weight 726 grams.
