Large Wooden Wine or Cider Pitcher, 19th Century?

Large Wooden Wine or Cider Pitcher – 19th Century
Antique large wooden wine or cider pitcher with darkened metal bands, dating from the 19th century. Beautiful handcrafted cooperage work, typical of French folk art and traditional Norman taverns.
This pitcher was once used to serve cider or wine. Its large capacity makes it an authentic and rare decorative piece. There is an inscription carved into the wood that is difficult to decipher, possibly reading “COMMEAU”.
Estimated capacity: at least 5 litres.
Good overall condition for its age, with normal wear, a lovely aged patina, and small natural cracks in the wood caused by ageing.
A beautiful decorative piece for a wine cellar, inn, chalet, restaurant, or antique folk art collection.
