Exceptional "cantir" in fine copper from the late 19th century, stamped underneath the base I. Isidore Llaurensou comes from a long lineage of coppersmiths. A gifted and inventive artist, his productions adapt the shapes and colors of Greek vases into tinware. A friend of Georges-Daniel de Monfreid, he works from his drawings and introduces Gustave Violet to tinware.
This cantir is a typically Catalan model that he perfects and stylizes. His home is a must-visit for all Roussillon artists, including Manolo and Deodat de Severac, among others.
