Magnificent crucifix with mixed gilding (gold and silver), Napoléon III period, 50 cm

  
Late 19th century / Napoleon III period. The crucifix features a mixed silvered and gold leaf gilding. It is surrounded by a finely chiseled gilded metal ornament.

It has its INRI plaque. The Christ figure is made of biscuit porcelain. Superb original gold leaf gilding with beautiful burnishing. Magnificent gilded and ornate base.

The crucifix is in remarkable condition. A few very slight losses of gilding on the base and the cross.

I should also mention a small, harmless crack in the base. Height of the crucifix: 50 cm.

Width of the crucifix: 19 cm. Base dimensions: 15 x 7.5 cm.
