MARQUETRY: Exceptional Large Mosaic Egg in Extraordinary Bone
Completely made from small plaques, sometimes very small pieces, of bone glued next to each other in a complex assembly! The finished piece was then reworked to receive hollow and relief arabesques, and polished to give it an excellent shine. "Probably" work of Asian origin made of buffalo bone? Or, why not a work done by a true master cabinetmaker, specialized in marquetry, or even by a French ivory carver, since this corporation has been very productive over the centuries?? Currently, there is only one "ivory carver" left in France, Mr. Francis Migeon, a sculptor artist and Master of Art, in Saint Maur des Fosses... Heir to a long lineage dating back to his great-grandfather Célestin (1868 - 1935).
I couldn't count the number of assembled pieces... I couldn't find the same one either...
Placed on a base of your choice, it will be a very beautiful collectible piece! Dimensions: 18 x 12 cm. (carefully observe all the photos) careful packaging, fast and tracked shipping.
