The finished piece was then reworked to receive embossed and recessed arabesques, and polished to give it an excellent shine. Work "probably" of Asian origin made from buffalo bone? Or, why not a work created by a true master cabinetmaker, specializing in marquetry, or even by a French ivory carver, since this trade has been very productive over the past centuries???

Currently, there is only one "ivory carver" left in France, Mr. Francis Migeon, artist sculptor and Master of Art, in Saint Maur des Fosses... Heir to a long lineage dating back to his great-grandfather Célestin (1868 - 1935). I was unable to count the number of assembled pieces... I also couldn't find the same one...
