Ancient Medicine Box Old Asia China Indochina Ethnic. Beautiful antiquity for this box in the shape of an elephant. It was carved and hollowed out from an exotic wood which was then varnished, giving it its beautiful reflections. Its beautiful patina is the result of long use.

A fine example of popular art from Southeast Asia. Hollowed out from the mass, the box is closed by a lid on the back of the animal (It tends to fall off as its hinge is broken, you can see the detail in the last photo as well as the traces of its hand-carved sculpture).

It appears that the trunk has been restored in the past. The item shows traces and small signs of wear, it is sold as is.
