Rare 18th Century Islamic Art Ottoman Copper Covered Box

  

Beautiful container with a lid in the shape of a dove. With silver inlays and turquoise eyes. A Persian container with a lid in the shape of a dove. Made of chiseled copper in 2 parts and richly engraved with dense leaf scrolls.

On its head is a dove with a tear-shaped silver medallion representing a bird. There is a similar brass medallion on its back, above its tail. The eyes of the pigeon are made of silver, with small decorative turquoise blue glass or turquoise stones?

The pigeon rests on three brass riveted feet. Dimensions: 12.5 cm x 8 cm x 20.5 cm.
