Ancient wooden sculpture depicting Christ on a holly cross. Beautiful precision work with perfect details.

Dimensions: 45 cm X 22 cm. Christ is detached from the cross. He is held in place by a screw in the back, see photo. The nails holding the hands and feet appear to be wooden and no longer hold. The arms were carved after the body and then adapted to the shoulders (see photos). One side of the cross appears to have been glued back together. Traces of glue to be removed. Very beautiful sculpture of Folk Art around 1850.
