Antique wooden sculpture depicting Christ on a holly cross. Beautiful precision work with perfect details. Made from 2 types of wood.

Dimensions: 45 cm X 22 cm. Christ is detached from the cross. He is held in place by a screw in the back, see photo. The spikes holding the hands and feet appear to be wooden and no longer hold.

The arms were sculpted separately from the body and then adapted to the shoulders (see photos). One side of the cross seems to have been re-glued. There are traces of glue that need to be removed. Very beautiful Popular Art sculpture from around 1850.
