The bricelet is a type of waffle: a small, very thin, crispy, and crumbly waffle, the bricelet has been part of Switzerland's culinary heritage for centuries. The origin of the name "bricelet" is likely Alemannic and comes from "bretzeli.

" The bricelet is a variant of the wafer. An interesting feature is that each Swiss family traditionally had a mold with grids that imprint a specific pattern: stars for one, flowers or birds for another, views of monuments, animated scenes of characters, etc.

These were printed on their series of wafers. Each mold had its own story that was passed down through the family before this pastry became industrialized. Small forged iron mold from the late 19th or early 20th century. Length 57 cm, dimensions of the plates 14 cm by 8 cm.
