Superb golden crucifix with fine gold leaf, late 19th century

  
Superb small gilded wooden crucifix. Late 19th century / Napoléon III period. Feet flat on the base... The crucifix is gilded with gold leaf; it is surrounded by a decoration of gilded chiseled metal. Superb original gold leaf gilding with a beautiful patina.

The Christ figure is made of biscuit; it is in excellent condition. The crucifix is in excellent condition. Some slight missing parts on the metal lace on the sides of the cross. Very slight gilding loss on the base and cross (see photos). Height of the crucifix: 49 cm.
