I am offering for sale this magnificent animal sculpture, a duck in glazed stoneware, entirely handcrafted by artist Catherine Allouin-Merccion in her workshop in Jayat.

An art piece for indoors...

Thanks to a “Grand Feu” firing at nearly 1300°C, this stoneware is exceptionally strong.

The clay is vitrified, which makes the piece:

Frost-resistant: It is not affected by frost or snow. It can stay outside all year round in your garden, on a terrace, or by a pond without any risk of cracking.

Durable: The colors and glaze are highly resistant to UV rays and weathering.

A unique collector’s piece

Each creation by Catherine Allouin-Merccion is unique. You will not find two identical ducks:

- Chiseled plumage: Admire the meticulous engraved work on the back, giving it striking texture and realism.

- Signature glazes: A subtle blend of mineral blue-gray and sandy tones, characteristic of the famous pottery of Jayat.
