I am selling this 19th-century Black Forest-style jewelry box, a remarkable piece combining practicality and decorative appeal.
Style: Napoleon III Black Forest.
Decoration: Relief carvings of a bird, possibly a grouse, on the lid, and edelweiss flowers on the box.
Details: Three compartments lined with new burgundy felt, relief-carved decoration, curved feet, and an elaborate finish.
The box is in very good overall condition, as is the lock, which comes with a working key. Please note a small chip in the wood on the movable part of the clasp (photos 8 and 12).
Please contact me for further information or details about this exceptional piece. Examine the photos carefully, as they form part of the description.
